What the hours look like in practice
Every home is different, so treat these as honest ranges, not quotes. A studio or one-bedroom with easy access usually lands between two and four hours — $330 to $660 at our rate. A typical two- or three-bedroom home runs four to six hours, or $660 to $990. Larger homes, beach houses with three flights of stairs, and moves with a long walk from door to truck can run six to eight hours or more. What actually changes the price
Access is the biggest one on 30A. A house on a narrow beach access road where a 26-foot truck can't stage close means longer carries, and longer carries mean hours. Stairs matter — a top-floor unit in Miramar Beach with no elevator is a different job than a single-story in Freeport. Packing is the other lever: a fully packed, labeled home loads fast; a home we pack ourselves adds time but saves your back and your dishes. Specialty items — pianos, gun safes, bronze work, oversized furniture — take extra hands and care, and we plan those into the estimate up front. And season is real here: late spring through summer is peak on the Emerald Coast, so booking two to three weeks out beats calling the week of.
How to keep the number down
Pack everything you can and label the boxes by room. Empty the drawers. Reserve the closest legal parking to your door for the truck. If your community is gated or has an HOA, get the certificate of insurance requirement to us before move day, not during it — we keep COIs on file for most 30A communities already. And be straight about the inventory when you call. Surprises on move day are the most expensive item on any truck.
